Indian Army has invited applications from eligible unmarried Male and unmarried Female Engineering Graduates and also from Widows of Defence Personnel who died in harness for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army.  The course for recruitment will start in April 2021 at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu and the duration of the course will be 49 weeks.  The number of vacancies released for this recruitment is 189.  The online application process will begin on 14 October 2020 at 3:00 pm and end on 12 November 2020.  All the candidates interested in recruitment can apply online and save them between these dates.  Registration for further preference.  To avoid last hour rush and ensure timely application for examination.

Click on the direct link below to register yourself for the recruitment process released by the Indian Army or various technical posts.  The applicable link will remain active until 12 November 2020;  So the interested candidates have to fill the form much before the last date.

Important instructions for filling online application form

  • Read all the registration instructions carefully and then proceed.
  • To join the Indian Army as an officer, check your job eligibility and then register.  For eligibility criteria.
  • If you are a new user, click on the Registration tab.  The registration table window will open and fill all the fields in the registration form.
  • Fill all your personal details strictly as given in your matriculation certificates.  (Ie your name, DOB, father’s name and educational qualification.)
  • The candidate has to ensure that the email ID and mobile entered at the time of registration process is active and unique.  Friends email id / mobile sharing / usage is strictly prohibited.
  •   Ensure that all fields are filled in correctly and then click the Save tab.
  •   The registration process is mandatory for all the candidates to apply online for various entries.
  • By default, your email ID will also be your username, but the candidate must select their password (no more than 10 characters).  All candidates are advised to remember their username and password.
  •   If you are an existing user / already registered on your website then you can log in using your username and password.
  •   After this your profile page will open and you can see your dashboard on the screen.
  • Click continue to go to the registration / login page.

Educational Qualification

For SSC (Tech) – 56 Men & SSC (Tech) – 27 Women Entries – Candidates having Engineering Degree in – Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Aeronautical / Ballistics / Avionics / CS / IT / M.Sc Computer Science / Electronics & Telecommunication / Architecture / Production Engineering Streams (above mentioned branches. streams) from AICTE recognized Engineering College / Institute will be eligible for this Army SSC Technical Entries.

For Widows of Defence martyred personnel Entry – Applicants having Graduation in any stream (NON-Tech & Non-UPSC applicants) &Applicants having BE/B. Tech in any tech stream (For Tech Applicants) will be eligible for this entry.

Age Limit (as on 01/04/2020)

i) For SSC(Tech)- 56 Men and SSCW(Tech)- 27 Women: 20 to 27 years as on 01 Apr 2021 Candidates born between 02 Apr 94 and 01 Apr 2001, both days inclusive).
ii) For widows of Defence Personnel who Died in Harness Only:  SSCW (Non-Tech) [Non-UPSC] and SSCW(Tech) – A maximum of 35 years of age as on 01 Apr 2021.

Training

Selected candidates will be detailed for the training in Officer Training Academy, Chennai according to their position in the final order of merit (engineering stream-wise) to meet the number of vacancies available and all the eligibility criteria.  Training period- 49 weeks and during the training period, candidates will neither be allowed to marry nor be allowed to live with parents / guardians during the training period.  Candidates should not marry until they undergo full training at the Officers Training Academy.  A candidate, if he marries during training, will be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenses incurred by the Government on him.

How to Apply
Applications will only be accepted online on website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
Click on ‘Officer Entry Appln/Login’ and then click ‘Registration’ (Registration is not required, if already registered on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in).
Fill the online registration form after reading the instructions carefully.
After getting registered, click on ‘Apply Online’ under Dashboard.
A page „Officers Selection – ‘Eligibility’ will open.
Then click ‘Apply’ shown against Short Service Commission Technical Course.
A page ‘Application Form’ will open. Read the instructions carefully and click ‘Continue’ to fill details as required under various segments – Personal information, Communication details, Education details and
details of previous SSB.
‘Save & Continue’ each time before you go to the next segment.
After filling details on the last segment, you will move to a page ‘Summary of your information’ wherein you can check and edit the entries already made.
Only after ascertaining the correctness of all your details, click on ‘Submit Now’.
Candidates must click on ‘Submit Now’ each time they open the application for editing any details.
The candidates are required to take out two copies of their application having Roll Number,30 minutes after final closure of online application on last day.
